Speke Aerodrome Heritage Group
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Speke Aerodrome, Speke Road (A561), Liverpool L24 8QD
The Speke Aerodrome Heritage Group (SAHG) is located on the hard standing apron behind the 1930s terminal building, which is now occupied by the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Flying at Speke can be dated back to 1913 and the aerodrome played a little known but significant role during WWII. The Group initially established themselves as 'The Jetstream Club' to manage Jetstream 41 G-JMAC, donated by BAe Systems at Woodford. The Jetstream cockpit was converted to a flight simulator. The name changed in January 2010 to its current title to reflect the diversification of aircraft now looked after.
