Aircraft Restoration Company (ARCo)
Operating from IWM Duxford, and owned by John Romain, the Aircraft Restoration Company (ARCo) is the largest of the specialist aero engineering companies based there. ARCo has completed many outstanding restorations both flying and static for museums, collections and private owners. The Company also undertakes major servicing and repairs on historic aircraft for a number of warbird owners in the UK and abroad, plus contracts for the MOD, RNHF and BBMF. ARCo shares it's hangar with The Aircraft Restoration Company that was formed back in the late 80's to initially restore 5 Spitfires from the RAF's stock of Gate Guardians. The Historic Flying Ltd, also under the management of John Romain, has subsequently restored approximately a third of the world’s flying Spitfires.
